The aim of the research conducted by the INCLUD-ED project is to achieve both academic success and social cohesion for all children and communities in Europe, regardless of their socioeconomic status and/or ethnic background. The project analyzed the educational actions that lead to social inequality, with a particular focus on the actions that contribute to reducing such inequalities and present evidence of educational success. The research studied the impact of these actions and policies on different aspects of society such as employment, housing, health, and social and political participation. On the basis of such research, this chapter distinguishes between actions that obtain excellent results (best practices) and actions that obtain excellent results in many diverse contexts (successful actions). These successful actions are evidence-based solutions that are transferable to different environments and can ground policies.
